FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions
I forgot my username, password, or cannot login – what do I do?
Email support at support@tellic.com for any login issues. Please refer to the Troubleshooting & Support section below for more information.
Why can’t I find the concept I want to explore using the concept search functionality?
tellic graph aggregates the synonyms for each biological concept, where appropriate, and maps these synonyms to a single ontological concept based on the entity type. For example, if you would like to explore “Lung Cancer” as a disease of interest in the graph you would enter “Lung Neoplasms” in the search due to the fact that Lung Neoplasms is the single ontological concept according to the MeSH ontology. Concept search also allows for partial text searching which in the example above would show return the same result by also simply searching for “Lung” in the concept search.
For Diseases, refer to the MeSH onotology.
For Genes, refer to the Entrez ontology.
For Phenotypes, refer to the EFO ontology.
For Drugs, refer to CHEMBL.
I expanded a node and it looks like a bunch of relationships are missing between nodes?
If you experience behavior where it appears that unrelated nodes with no relationships have been brought into the graph, check your Timeline slider at the top of the window and adjust accordingly to surface those hidden relationships. Often when exploring relationships there will be research with hidden relationships that occur outside of the selected timeline range, resulting in seemingly “missing” relationships.
Another option, in the event your timeline slider is configured to the full range of available research, would be to rearrange nodes using one of the Layout Operations tools at the top of the canvas.
I accidentally removed nodes or relationships from the graph – how do I bring them back?
Simply use CMD/CTRL + Z to undo your last action. You may also use CMD/CTRL + Y to redo your last action. Note that undo and redo functionality only works for adding or removing nodes and relationships.
I want to explore how the entities on the graph are interrelated without adding any new nodes. How do I do that?
As of Release 2.1, you may use the Find all relationships button
I see visualizations on the Manage Visualizations screen that are not mine. Where did they come from?
These visualizations likely came from a colleague who has shared their visualization with you.
I expanded relationships and noticed some of the edges between nodes have no average assertion strength, or the strength is showing as 0%?
This likely means that the relationship only exists in Clinical Trials data. Because we derive average assertion strength from sentence data in scientific assertions and patent filings, relationships with no sentence data would not have an assertion strength to aggregate.
My node is not expanding after double-clicking it?
You likely have custom filters applied. Please confirm your Explore Filter is not preset to filter on nodes or edges.
